On St. Patrick's Day, Wednesday, March 17th the library hosted Peter Macaulay. Mr. Macaulay presented "The Ancient Harp of Ireland" a concert and lecture on Irish harp music from the 11th century to modern times. Refreshments were provided by the Friends of the Bellingham Library and included Irish soda bread and shamrock shaped cookies.

Journalism Discussion Panel
On Thursday, April 1st at 7:00 pm, reporters from The Call, Country Gazette, and the Bellingham Bulletin will discuss how they find their stories and make them compelling. Please call or stop by the library to register.
Music Therapy Presentation
On Monday, March 22 at 7:00 pm come and hear Nicole Boucher O'Malley from Hands in Harmony give an introductory talk about music therapy. Learn how music can be used to treat a variety of diagnoses. Registration is required so please call the library or stop in to register.
Screening of the Feature Film at Bellingham High School
On Thursday, March 18 at 7:00 pm, come and watch the feature film starring Jamie Foxx and Robert Downey, Jr. in the comfort of the Bellingham High School auditorium. The film is rated PG-13. No tickets or registration required. Just drop in!
Book Discussion Group on Monday, March 15 at 6:30 pm
Come and discuss The Soloist at the Bellingham Library and be entered into a raffle. Diaper Drive March 22-27
The Bellingham Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry has many requests for diapers. Donations of diapers can be dropped off at the Bellingham Library between March 22-27. All sizes are needed. The library will also accept cash donations that week to be used to purchase diapers. Any amount is much appreciated.
Ancient Harp of Ireland Concert on St. Patrick's Day
Join us on Wednesday, March 17 (St. Patrick's Day) at 7:00 pm for a St. Patrick's Day concert featuring Bellingham resident and award-winning musician Peter Macaulay. He will play music from medieval times to the present, on a bronze strung bardic harp. Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Bellingham Library. Free but you must have a ticket for admittance as space is limited. Tickets are available at the library's front desk.

Cello, Cheese & Chocolate

Thank you to all for attending our wonderful Cello, Cheese & Chocolate Valentine's Concert with La Bella Musica last evening. It was a wonderful event with beautiful music, great food and great company. We hope you enjoyed yourself! Free Drawing for Book Discussion Group Attendees
The Friends of the Bellingham Public Library are proud to sponsor a drawing for a Book Discussion Group Attendee to win Gift Certificates to the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Boston Pops or Tanglewood and a 6-hour limousine ride. The drawing will be held on Sunday, April 25th at the library after the screening of the film. You need not be present to win, but you must atend a The Soloist Book Dicussion Group. Cello, Cheese, and Chocolate Valentine Concert
On Friday, February 12 at 7:00 pm, as part of "One Book, One Bellingham," the library will be holding a Valentine concert featuring the classical music trio La Bella Musica. Refreshments will be generously provided by Whole Foods Market, Pandolfi's Fine Chocolates, and the Friends of the Bellingham Public Library. The concert is free but tickets are required for admittance. Tickets will be available at the library's circulation desk beginning on February 1st.
Two Book Discussion Groups in February
Want to discuss The Soloist? In February there will be two book discussion groups, both held at the Bellingham Public Library: Monday, February 8 at 6:30 pm and Thursday, February 25 at 10:30 am. Both are facilitated by Cecily Christensen, Reference Librarian. No registration required.

December Coat Drive an Overwhelming Success!
Even before December was over, the library and Curves for Women collected more coats than was needed. We collected a total of 310 coats! We thank the community for their overwhelming support.
